Prof. Dr.-Ing. Daniela Thrän has been the head of the "Bioenergy Systems" chair at the 'Deutschen Biomasseforschungszentrum gemeinnützige GmbH' (DBFZ) in Leipzig since 2008. As well as this, she also became the head of the "Bioenergy" department at the 'Helmholtz-Zentrum für Umweltforschung' (UFZ) in 2011 and holds the chair of the "Bioenergy Systems" department at Leipzig University as well. As a well-known and recognized expert in the fields of biomass, bioeconomy and renewable energy, she has been incredibly active in promoting the transition to more renewable energy sources in eastern Germany for over 30 years.
